Maple Mountain at Dawn
24 X 36
One of Wendell’s last paintings, this joyful depiction of Maple Mountain is one of his finest paintings, revisiting his favorite scenery, Maple Mountain, also known as Sierra Bonita. The clouds are lit with a vibrant dawn-inspired light, but I also regard it as rather imaginative and romanticized since the hay bales are lit with even daylight. His inner light was the real source for this vibrant scene.
