Buckley Mountain Cow Pasture

Painted for Wendell’s father, Frank Johnson, this depiction of rural Springville which once seemed rather common is a reflection of many sprawling farms that existed mostly between the mid-1800s to the late 1900s. Although there are still some scenic farms today, it seems to be a more rare sight with every passing year. To me, this demonstrates the power of the paintbrush to capture history.
